Top Tips

The key to any blood test is ensuring good hydration and blood flow to the fingers. Things you can do to try and help include:

  • Putting your hand in warm water for 5-10 minutes before taking a finger-prick blood sample
  • Staying hydrated
  • Taking a shower, going for a walk, or doing general exercise

Prefer a nurse to take your sample?

If you prefer to have a nurse take your blood from a vein in your arm, we can arrange for you to visit either our London or Manchester clinic or one of our nationwide third-party clinics which may be more local to you.
