One of the most popular blood tests providing insight into your haemoglobin/oxygen levels, immune system and platelets. Also includes erythrocyte sedimentation rate
A full blood count is a great way to get a snapshot of your overall general health as well as providing insight into potential health issues such as iron deficiency anaemia, infection, inflammation, and any bleeding disorders
What’s included in a full blood count
Often referred to as a Hematology profile, this test looks at three components:
- Red Blood Cells – the cells that transport oxygen around the body.
- White Blood Cells – the cells that are part of the immune system
- Platelets – which play an important role in blood clotting
This blood test also looks at Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR). ESR can show inflammatory activity in the body
A blood sample will be taken professionally from a vein in your arm by our qualified Phlebotomist. Samples are sent to the lab the same day and results are usually available within 24-48 hours from your appointment day by secure email
