Thyroid Function

Our thyroid blood test that measures three key markers of your thyroid function: TSH, Free T4, and Free T3

Whether you have a thyroid condition and would like to monitor your thyroid function, or would like to investigate whether you may have a thyroid disorder, our thyroid function blood test is a comprehensive blood test that measures three key biomarkers of your thyroid function: thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)level, and the free or unbound thyroid hormones FT3 and FT4.

Measuring unbound thyroid hormones provides a more accurate measurement for explaining symptoms relating to thyroid disorders. Thyroid disorders include an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) or overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism). Symptoms often present as tiredness, weight gain, muscle aches and weakness, and difficulty sleeping

Results are usually available within 24-48 hours from your appointment day. They will be available to view and download from your secure online account with a clinical comment from our medical team.

Thyroid Hormones
  • Free Thyroxine 4 (FT4)
  • Free Thyroxine 3 (FT3)
  • Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
You should not take biotin supplements 3-5 days before the test as this may lead to falsely high or low test results
